I have a new Roton ballnut that I plan to use on my Y axis.
It's not a new design or anything, just a brand new one.
I measured the ball bearings inside and they are exactly .1250 inches in diameter.
I wound up with about .003-.004 backlash on the Y with a single nut so I've ordered some oversized balls
from ToolSupply on Ebay.
I'll report back on which size works and how much the backlash is reduced.
It certainly should get down to .001 or less.

Finally replaced the ball bearings in the Roton ballnut.
The stock nut uses (69) .1250 balls
I replaced them with (69) .1259 balls and the slop that was present
before is almost completely gone.
Still have to mount it on the mill and check the backlash but it will be much better.
Might be able to fit either the .1261 or .1263 balls from ToolSupply on Ebay.

I finally got around to installing the new Roton ballscrew and ballnut with oversized balls.
The old Nook screws days were done, it had .014 backlash.
After changing to the Roton I only have .002-.003 backlash.
Trying the .1261 or .1263 balls may lower that to .001 or less.
The nut has much less slop now than with the original .1250 balls, IMO it had about .005 -.007 before.
Video coming soon.
