hoss,

do you need the rack and pinion system on the z axis? I ask as it is keeping my spindle from going down to the table. I also already removed the spring arm on the side of the z axis as that was bottoming out before the spindle was anywhere close to the table. I dont see how a table needs to be built up by 2" to allow work to be cut. I will be adding a new fixture table, but I don't know if i am missing something or what.

I eventually yanked all the old Z parts off the mill.
Just extra weight.
