Hoss,
With the Roton ballscrews, what kind of backlash is typical? I'm hoping for near .001 but I'm not sure if my expectations are off target without taking out a small business loan.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Rotons give about .002-.004, typical for rolled screws with single nuts.
You can read here about ways to overcome this.

I think I'll get the roton ball nuts. If I wanted to replace the balls with larger diameter ones, where can I find which balls to buy?
Thanks!

You'll just have to mike some of the balls that are in a nut and order some .001 bigger.
Maybe get some .0015 too if the .001 still leave some backlash.
still a lot cheaper than zero backlash nuts.
